Cosport tickets are on their way!

Some of my most expensive tickets for the Olympics are coming from Cosport (the EU seller for Austria), and they were supposed to start sending out their tickets last week so I’ve been getting a bit nervous.  Thankfully today I received an email to say that a shipping request had been sent to FedEx which is what they are using to send the tickets so I presume that is them.  Not totally sure though as the sender is apparently JetSet Sports Holdings and also although the notification was sent first thing this morning FedEx don’t seem to have picked up the package yet – very bizarre!

Unfortunately I won’t be in to receive the tickets so I might have to wait until the end of the week to find out for sure – I’ll be a bit nervous until I actually have them in my hand!

THREE WEEKS until London 2012!

Today marks three weeks until the Opening Ceremony for London 2012 and the anticipation is growing!  The teams for all countries are being finalised (whether its by selection, injury, or the courts!), press are getting accredited and arriving, and people are buying and receiving their tickets.  I haven’t received all mine yet (where are mine Cosport?!), and I still need to find out who is coming with me to several of the events – thats what happens when you buy first and ask people later!  I guess my enthusiasm for going just got to me and I bought tickets for events I was interested in assuming that someone would want to come with me – whoops!

Theres still a lot for me to do before the Olympics start.  I’ve sorted a lot of my travel tickets and accommodation (not that I need much) out, but I still need to work out the times I will need to be catching a train each day.  I also need to figure out what bag I will be taking (must be soft and less than 25l), the food and drink (though only 100ml of liquid is allowed so I think I might have to buy drinks inside the park as I’m sure I’ll want to take in suncream (ASSUMING of course that we have a summer at some point!) I’ll take in, and everything else I’ll want to take (hat, umbrella, flag, supporters scarves, mobile phone emergency charge pack, etc, etc) – so many decisions to make!

And I haven’t even mentioned one of the biggest decisions – I STILL haven’t decided whether to get a new camera or not and even what TYPE of camera it might be.  Not much time now, so I really need to pull my finger out!!

Must step away from the ticketing sites…

… and hand over my Visa cards so that I stop buying tickets to the Olympics!  This morning Sportsworld released some new tickets which included Velodrome ones and as that was what I most wanted that I hadn’t got thats what I went for!  Very expensive (especially including the handling fee of £40 PER TICKET) as they are Category AA but hoping that means a good view and its for CT004 which means we will see the final of the Womens Team Pursuit which I believe TeamGB have a very good chance of medalling in!

Very very happy to have got the tickets, but must stop buying anymore!!

p.s. Does anyone want to come to the Canoe Slalom with me??  Seems none of my friends and family do…

Eventeam tickets have arrived!

In order to get the tickets I wanted for London 2012, I used the fact that as part of the EU I could buy tickets from other EU country official sellers.  I wasn’t alone in this, as their websites crashed etc under the load just like the official GB one did as soon as any sales were announced!

Two of the EU sites allowed you to pay for delivery via courier (still not sure why this wasn’t an option with Sportsworld!) and yesterday I stayed in to receive my tickets from Eventeam the French official seller which were sent via UPS so now I have some Badminton tickets – very excited!  I already have some more badminton tickets for the same day and I’m going with two different extended family members – should be fun!!  The only issue with them is that they came with a letter all in French so now I just have to find someone who can translate it for me!

One month to go until LONDON 2012!!

Can you tell that I’m excited?  *wide grin*  TeamGB is slowly taking shape (although the selections for Taekwando and Fencing among others are controversial and under challenge), and its cool to see how excited all the athletes from all disciplines are at being selected and then receiving their kit.

As far as ‘my’ kit goes, I’ve got my TeamGB and ParalympicsGB supporters scarves and TeamGB football shirt and caps plus a large flag (though its still within the rules) so I’m getting sorted.  I still need to decide on a camera and rucksack I’m going to take though, and I’m not impressed with only being able to take in 100ml of liquid but I guess thats the airport-style security we’re going to have to live with.

Roll on 27th July, and i for one CAN’T WAIT!!

50 days to go!

Today marks 50 days to go, which is virtually no time at all but still seems to me like AGES.  I bet it doesn’t for the Olympic committee or the athletes though!

A few more of my tickets arrived yesterday, which then prompted me to go and buy some more (I know, I know, I really shouldn’t buy anymore) – but I do have a good reason.  I originally got tickets to the Womens Football Gold Medal match (woo hoo!) through the ballot, but they are Category C tickets.  As they are still available, I’ve now bought some Category A tickets so hopefully we’ll have a much better view!  Does mean that I have some additional tickets to pass on to someone – anyone interested (at face value only of course, I’m NOT a tout).

Talking of views, I’ve had a look around and I can’t yet find a seating plan for the Olympic stadium (or other venues).  Am I being blind, or are they not available yet?  Given that the tickets are being sent out and they have seat numbers on them it would be nice to see where they are in the venue.  I guess it could be because the final seating configurations are still being worked out, but come on people we need information! 😉

Its next month!!!

After waiting for so long, it now seems a bit unreal that the Olympics are NEXT MONTH!  Tickets have started to be sent out (I’ll pick up my first lot from the post office tomorrow) and I received the Official Programme yesterday – can’t wait!  I did manage to panic myself this evening when I thought I hadn’t actually bought some of the tickets I thought I had, but I eventually worked out I’d got them from another EU provider that I’d completely forgotten about – doh!

London 2012 here I come! 😀

Well done Channel 4!

I’ve just been reading the Channel4 press release about their coverage and presenters for the Paralympics this year, and I have to say well done for pulling together such a broad range of top notch presenters, specialists and newcomers and for the amount of coverage that will be going on.

I have to admit that after the ill-fated Ortis Deley debacle at the World Championships last year (sorry Ortis, though I think putting you in such a prime coverage with no real experience first was a mistake Ch4 bosses should accept blame for) I was not very positive about Channel4 showing the Paralympics, but from the sounds of it its going to be great!

I also look forward to seeing how the LEXI symbol is going to be used to help us viewers understand the different paralympic classifications.  Should be an interesting and fun two weeks!

Collecting EU Olympic tickets

To get all the tickets that I have for the Olympics (which before you start getting annoyed, means that at least 7 other people who wanted tickets but didn’t get are able to get them are able to come to the games), I bought from a couple of other EU ticket sellers – one from France (run by Eventeam), and the other Denmark (run by Sportsworld).

Now despite being a bit annoying to deal with, Eventeam are going to courier their tickets to everyone just like London 2012.  However, despite being a British company, Sportsworld want everyone to go to their London ticket office and collect them in person.  I’ve just had an email detailing the dates that they are open, and its only just before the games so I’m going to have to make a special trip to London for them as I need them the first day – dagnabit!  I did know about only being able to collect them when I booked them but thought I’d be able to go a bit in advance.  Best talk to the boss about having an afternoon off work so I can go get them…

UPDATE : Whilst working out the best time for me to get the tickets, and realising that I needed them for the first day I’m in London (for Archery) I finally read the bottom of the email thoroughly (I know, I shouldn’t skip things!) and it turns out that I can nominate someone else to pick them up for me – woo hoo!  As t’other half commutes into London every day she is kindly offered to go pick them up for me – result!
